A Little Information about the Zura Hall Renovation
Zura Hall first opened on the campus of San Diego State University in 1968. In that time, the 140,900 square feet hall has served the campus and students well. However, to address the many years of accumulated deferred maintenance, it was in drastic need of significant improvements. This led to the first full renovation of a residence hall in SDSU history. The project began in the summer of 2014 with a budget of over $53 million, and the hall reopened for the fall semester 2015 move-in day on August 21, 2015.
When such a distinguished institution of higher learning contacted us to help out with monument signs for universities in San Diego, we jumped at the chance to be part of this historic project. SDSU just needed us to produce a marker that complemented the décor well. Fortunately, we had the skills to pull it off.
First of all, we listened closely to what they had in mind for the marker. We then created a design for their approval. Once SDSU was happy, we got down to work fabricating the new sign. We then worked with their schedule to ensure the classy new monument sign was installed in time to welcome the students back. In the end, the client was completely satisfied with the job we did.
