AEVEX Aerospace is an industry thought leader in airborne intelligence solutions. Recently, the company underwent a rebranding, which necessitated a changeover of existing signage. Our shop took on the project and began constructing an acrylic logo lobby sign in Murrieta, CA.
Changing Signs from the Inside Out
The company had scheduled a change-over meeting. Therefore, the management team asked our shop to begin the rebranding with the lobby sign. For this particular product, our technicians used half-inch-thick acrylic. The logo is a direct flatbed print to the face of the acrylic. The letters feature painted facings.
You can see the difference in the high gloss finish of the lettering and the gradient color change of the logo portion. Next, our specialists went to the office and flush-mounted the products to the wall. The next project our team will undertake is a set of two exterior signs.
Gradient Color Changes are Impressive Visuals
One of the most commonly asked questions focuses on how we can do gradient color changes. They look fantastic, are eye-catching, and look as good in an office as they do on a vehicle wrap. Because this is not something you can paint on, it is critical to imprint the details directly.
Because our shop has invested in super-charged flatbed printing equipment, our technicians were able to create the logo with a direct imprint instead of an overlay. We can do the same for other materials, too. Best of all, the gradient color change contrasts very well from the wall where the finished sign is mounted.
Is Acrylic Right for You?
Acrylic is so popular for lobby signs because the material mimics the elegance of glass. However, it is much better for signage since it is not as brittle as glass. We routinely produce lobby signs consisting of 3D letters or logo boards. However, acrylic does not have to be your only option.
Another favorite is metal. This material impresses with its longevity and the properties the different metals bring to the project. For example, stainless steel is a gorgeous material that is inimitable. Other metal hues that impress are brass, bronze, and Cor-Ten steel. We can use the metal for three-dimensional letters or a board.
Acrylic and metal are good choices when you want to illuminate the lobby sign. This is a trend that is quickly gaining popularity. When working with acrylic, we recommend placing LEDs behind the edges for an elegant look. We can also do push-through acrylic letters that hide the LEDs when selecting metal.
