When schools undergo construction, students have to be redirected to temporary locations. Recently, we had the opportunity to assist 10X Academy with large acrylic building letters in Escondido for its temporary building.
Acrylic Letters Advertise the Presence of the School at Its Temporary Location
For this project, the client selected half-inch-thick acrylic. They feature multiple fonts to underscore not just the name but also the tagline. After cutting the material, our technicians painted the 3D letters to match the school’s colors.
The final step was the installation. For this particular project, we used a pin mount that is sufficient for the weight. Now, the building is appropriately branded, advertises the school’s location, assists with wayfinding, and overall fits in perfectly with the venue’s brand story.
What in Pin Mounting?
When we use pins for mounting 3D letters, our installers can minimize any damage to a facade. It is an attractive option to consider when you are renting, will only be in your location for a relatively short time, or have selected a lightweight material. We can pin mount for acrylic, plastic, and metals.
Other Building Letter Installation Choices
For the client moving into their permanent location or the project with heavy letters, we generally prefer the stud mount. We drill holes into the back of the letters and the wall’s studs. It gives the installation a look of being flush with the wall, which is elegant and appeals to many clients.
When a client would like some distance between the wall and the letters, we recommend spacers or offsets. They add to the depth of the letters and give the illusion that the pieces are floating just above the wall’s surface. We use something similar when the surface is uneven, but the client specifies that the letters must be at identical distances from the wall.
Finishing the Project with a Monument Sign Refurbishing
A secondary aspect of this project was refurbishing an existing monument sign. It featured six panels that already had branded information. Our technicians removed the current faces and replaced them with custom-made new sign faces we had put together at the shop. The top panel highlights the school’s name and logo in its full-color palette.
The second panel advertises the school and how interested parents could enroll their children. This panel encourages follow-through by underscoring that enrollment is currently underway. We left the bottom panel blank with a white backdrop. It echoes the color of the top panel, but it does not feature any messages.
Does Your Company Need Building Letters?
Are you moving into a new space? Maybe you are rebranding. Large acrylic building letters in Escondido or anywhere in the San Diego County’s North County region are budget-friendly, look great, and are fully customizable. Of course, there are other options, too. Examples include channel letters, lightbox cabinets, or building panels. Another popular alternative is the design of a plaque.
