Dempsey Construction has been doing quite a bit of work on the 286,000-square-foot buildings at 5355 and 5375 Mira Sorrento Place. Known as the Sorrento Towers North, they are an excellent example of Class A office buildings. The new owners, Shorenstein Properties chose Gensler as their architect and commissioned the work. Subsequently, when Dempsey Construction needed a subcontractor for fabricated metal address numbers in San Diego CA, All Star Signs received the contract.
Fabricated Aluminum Numbers Add Suitable Chic to a Class A Office Building
When All Star Signs jumped into action for Dempsey Construction as a commercial sign vendor, it was essential that we would receive the specs right away. Doing so meant that we could design, produce, and install a product that perfectly fits the overall look the construction company had selected.
For this project, we used fabricated aluminum numbers with closed backs. They are bottom rail mounted. Our installers used durable bottom studs that anchor the individual numerals to the top of a slight overhang. Because the numbers are sufficiently far away from the backdrop to belie any wall standoffs, it adds quite a bit of pizzazz to the project.
Moreover, the large sizes of the numerals ensure that wayfinding is a snap. Visitors to the Sorrento Towers North will have no trouble identifying the right locations.
Is Fabricated Metal Right for Your Next Building Sign Project?
Many of our clients are familiar with metal letters and numerals as being die-cut from aluminum. These typically allow for one-inch-thick displays. They are elegant, weather well, and retain their great looks for decades. However, now there is a growing trend that favors fabricated metal rather than the die-cut type.
There are several types of metal we use in the production of these elements. Take a page from the playbook of Dempsey Construction, and select aluminum. It is an excellent choice that combines the good looks of the metal with a lightweight construction. Other alternatives are stainless steel, copper, bronze, and brass.
Although we can paint the individual pieces, most clients prefer to keep them in the metal’s original color. That said, you might also consider the display of artificially aged metal, which adds a unique appeal to your signage.
Fabricated Metal Lobby Signs? We Do Those!
Did you know that fabricated metal is a great alternative to die-cut metal for interior lobby signs? Our technicians can boost the three-dimensional appeal with lettering that measures up to five inches in thickness, which goes even beyond sign foam’s capabilities. If five inches is a little much, consider that we can scale down the production to depths of about an inch.
