Regular readers of our blog are sure to remember the exterior wayfinding and directional signs that we did for the San Ysidro Land Port of Entry. We finished this project with the dedication wall in San Ysidro, CA, which we recently completed for the client.
Glass Panels Impress with Artistic Beauty
When you enter the facility, you will notice a focus wall that features a registry of designers and builders. The client requested glass panels, which we treated with a flatbed-printed black subsurface. Each panel measures three-eights of an inch in thickness and presents with beveled and polished edges.
We installed the panels with standoffs for added visual aesthetics. Moreover, our sign shop also worked on the flat-cut lettering that we pin-mounted to the wall. It displays as white letters and captions the dedication wall. In this way, everyone approaching this wall understands its significance.
Choosing the Design for a Dedication Wall
Dedicating a building or venue can be an excellent way of engaging with the community. There are different ways that you can go about it. A “thank you” wall that recognizes the designers and builders is a great way to show how various companies from the area collaborated in presenting a building or installation that is open to the public.
Of course, you do not have to use glass panels. Another option would be a substitution with acrylic. It looks stunning in its own right. Moreover, our technicians could paint it in your brand colors or any other tones that would work well with your corporate mission or brand.
Some facilities prefer the use of cast or etched metal. Copper, aluminum, and stainless steel are excellent choices. Each comes with a broad range of finishes that complement the brand message you are trying to send. Moreover, the opportunity for etching enables you to create highly-detailed messages that will last for generations.
What Goes into the Construction of a Focal Wall Signage Product?
The primary concern is the selection of a wall for the purpose. The surface should be sufficiently large to accommodate the sizing of the panel or display (if you use multiple boards). Besides that, it should highlight the displays by putting them into the foreground. This means that other pieces of art or signage solutions will take a backseat.
Moreover, the proper title is essential for the recognition of individuals or companies. Therefore, it matters how you caption the project. Some clients have elected to include the title as part of the panel itself. It is an excellent opportunity to create a stand-alone work of art. However, when you have multiple boards, it makes more sense to create an independent title.
In the case of the dedication wall in San Ysidro, CA, we used dimensional letters. You might opt for a stand-alone plaque or imprinted panel in its own right. Moreover, some companies have chosen to have us treat their focal wall with a wrap or wall graphics that include the title for the product.
